I saw Saul Rubinek’s one-man show, Playing Shylock, which is on now at Theater for a New Audience in Brooklyn (right across from the Brooklyn Academy of Music), and it was fantastic. Only 100 minutes but hilarious, thought-provoking, and based in part on Saul’s own family history as the child of Holocaust survivors. He mentions both Star Trek and Warehouse 13 on stage while examining the much-discussed Shakespearian character of Shylock in depth.
