Kelsey Cook Instagram – It’s #WorldFTDAwarenessWeek 🌎 My mom was diagnosed with Frontaltemporal Dementia almost 5 years ago, and there’s been nothing more heartbreaking than watching a disease like this slowly take my mom from me. FTD frequently goes undiagnosed or misdiagnosed, and while there currently isn’t a cure, spreading awareness of this disease and advocating for more research can help those experiencing symptoms and their loved ones find answers sooner. I got to volunteer at an amazing FTD fundraiser again this year after speaking at it last year. For a room of people who have either lost a family member to FTD or are currently caregiving for someone, the amount of love that radiates from the people I’ve met in this community is unbelievable. @theaftd is a great resource for learning more, as well as @emmahemingwillis’ recent interviews and book about her FTD journey with her husband Bruce Willis.
