Not a hand around a neck
Pressing down on the oppressed
True Power is a burden of kindness
True Power is balance, an alignment
A lighthouse for all ships lost at sea
True Power lives inside you and me
If only we’d open our eyes to see
True power isn’t a position or a pedestal
Not a high seat or a gold medal
True Power is a smile in the rain
It is Hope running into battle again and again
True Power is Humble, a silent strength
True Power warms like the sunshine, shares and radiates
True Power gives shelter to empathy’s muse
True Power carries my cross, and walks in my shoes.
True Power is a storm, born from a force of nature
True Power is an art form, a calling, a divine intervention
True Power puts words to the song of our heartache.
It’s the dam that holds back the ocean when the levy breaks.
When did we lose ourselves to the snakes, rats and fools?
Why do we hand our land over for the jesters to rule?
Will we recognize true power when we feel it inside?
Or are we doomed to spin forever on this rusted carousel ride?
