Hailing from Lismore in NSW’s Northern Rivers region, our December 2025 cover star, @maiamitchell, has a refreshingly down-to-earth quality. Before her breakout role in a Disney Channel rom-com, “I was begging my parents to let me move to Sydney and I’m grateful, in hindsight, that [I] didn’t,” muses Mitchell of her teen acting days. “I had a great balance of those experiences on set, [while] going to school and having a pretty normal childhood.
