Meenakshi Dixit Instagram – Revisiting Othello has been one of the most intense and fulfilling creative journeys for me. Creating Rangrezz, its Indian adaptation meant translating Shakespeare’s emotions into our cultural rhythm, without losing the soul of the original.
This journey became even more special as I brought together a debutant actor, @aryanmehta2 , alongside some of the most seasoned performers from my theatre company. Over a rehearsal process spanning more than four months, Aryan has shown remarkable growth, adaptability, and emotional depth, constantly surprising me as a director.
Sharing the stage with him is @meenakshidixit , who starts her theatre journey with this play after working in some major films. Watching her rediscover the magic of live performance has been a joy. A heartfelt thank you to @daliptahil Ji, a true veteran of Indian cinema and theatre, for graciously joining the cast for a special appearance and lending the production his timeless gravitas.
Turning the play into sheer musical and movement magic are @aniksharma_ with his “music from the heart” and @debu8812 with his “flying-feathers” like choreography and movements. And none of my show is ever complete without the blessings of Ma Saraswati in the form of @latika.jain87 Ji’s earthy voice.
A special thanks to @itsjaymehtaa and @kinnarimehtaa for standing like a rock behind the entire team.
Catch Rangrezz live on 24th January at Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir. Book your seats now on @bookmyshowin . Come witness love, trust, and tragedy unfold as Shakespeare meets India, on stage. | Posted on 22/Jan/2026 14:17:43
