Just here to peer pressure you into finally getting that thigh tattoo. This thing took two sessions and I wanna say 10 hours, but it was when I was a Ford Fiesta agent and I somehow got them to pay for most of it. Imagine having the worst sunburn of your life scratched for hours…but then you get a cool piece of art for the rest of your life. If you wanna go down a rabbit hole and see more, check out all the Hilda illustrations by Duane Bryers. (Sometimes a photo from the archive gets liked and it shows up top of my feed. That LA lighting was always good for these photos!)
the full 30 minute consulting session with my stylists. you couldn’t afford their booking fees.

It’s Day 2!! Every day we are going to do a Daily Creative Act. Just something, anything, that has us using our imagination to put something new in the world. It can be a song, a painting, a paragraph for your inevitable memoir. A new craft. A new arrangement. Whatever it is, by the end of the day it exists in the world…or is a little closer to existing in the world. Here are the rules. Every day. At least 30 minutes. You’re gonna work on something new. If you get lost in it, you can spend some more time on it to give it legs, but no more than 3 days. You don’t have to finish it, you just have to start. Today I colored a fat space lady.

All summer you’ve been saying that when things slow down, when you have more time, you’ll start that creative project. Once it cools off, once the kids are back in school, once there’s a little chill in the air to inspire you…you’ll make art again. Well, guess what. It’s October 1st. And where the f— are you? Now, maybe jumping into it all at once is a little too scary. Believe me, I’m really talking to myself here. I have a tendency to wait for my muse to show up and that bitch doesn’t wanna send a calendar invite. So, another year goes by and another idea sits in a pile of things I’ll get to one day. But, this is the year we start making the things. They say that creativity is a muscle. And, if we’re only using that muscle once in a while, when that muse finally shows up we’re not going to have enough strength to even pick the idea for that masterpiece off the ground. So, for the next month we’re gonna lock in. Every day we are going to do a Daily Creative Act. Just something, anything, that has us using our imagination to put something new in the world. It can be a song, a painting, a paragraph for your inevitable memoir. A new craft. A new arrangement.
