Samuel Cain’s father shook my hand and apologized, although it wasn’t his fault. As a mom, my heart breaks for his family. But my children’s safety comes first. I pray Samuel Cain finds God as he faces the consequences of his actions with the full force of the law. I’ll be praying for his family. Jeremiah 24:7 “I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.”

My trip to Israel this year was an experience. Walking where Jesus walked. Standing where Jesus stood. Praying where Jesus prayed. Being in the land where Scripture unfolded and brought the Bible to life, deepened my faith, sharpened my perspective, and reminded me how real and present God is, even in the chaos of today’s world. Sometimes you have to walk where He walked to remember who you are and what truly matters.
My remarks this morning at Greenville County Detention Center after Judge denied bond for the man (and confused trans) who threatened to ass*ssinate me. We should pray for him. We should pray for his family. And we should pray for all women who stand in harm’s way. Actions have consequences. Those who do harm or threaten to kill should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. Hold the line.

Today I joined the Coastal Carolina Chants and the Myrtle Beach Fire Department at the Florence ice rink for a cause close to my heart – raising funds for cancer screenings for the brave men and women who run toward danger so the rest of us can run to safety. God bless our first responders.

We’ve did the same in Congress, and we will continue our mission to protect our daughters as Governor. I’ve introduced the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act to protect women’s sports nationwide. Biological males should not compete against women. SOUTH CAROLINA STRONG
We introduced the Preventing Prosecutors from Protecting Predators Act. Soft-on-crime prosecutors are letting r*pists, child abusers, and s*x traffickers walk free. In one county alone, 93% of child sexual exploitation cases were dismissed between 2019-2022. Not a single jury conviction. Our bill requires transparency and cuts federal funding for prosecutors who refuse to do their jobs. If you take federal VAWA dollars to protect women and children, you will prosecute these cases or lose your funding. NOT ON MY WATCH.
Governor Henry McMaster has led the charge to prevent veteran suicide. Since 2021, South Carolina has participated in the Governor’s Challenge to Prevent Suicide Among Service Members, Veterans, and their Families. In Congress, I’ve fought to protect our veterans: mental healthcare, maternal healthcare, modernizing VA services, and protecting VA facilities. Our veterans gave everything. We owe them everything. As Governor, I will continue to keep veteran mental health a top priority.
