Rida Tharana Instagram – It was my Abbu’s birthday yesterday… his name is Abdul Zaheer! My beautiful man still looks so young, but he’s definitely getting older, and I don’t quite know how to accept that yet.
Abbu has always been a complex human being. He’s pushed all of us to do better, to try new things, and to dream bigger. At the same time, he’s someone who has, at moments, given in to societal pressures. He’s open-minded, yet sometimes restrictive in ways that are hard to understand. But so much of who we are today is because of him, and I want to give him credit for that.
Over the years, our relationship has only gotten better. Now, it genuinely feels like he’s my best friend. Growing up, whenever people asked, “Mom or dad?” the answer was always dad. We’ve always loved our father deeply.
He’s the most affectionate person…the best hugs, the best kisses, always saying, “Oh my God, my girls.” The sweetest kind of love. The first thing I do when I see him is hug him tight. I know I can run into his arms and they’ll always be open. I know I can rest my head on his chest, cry, and he’ll console me.
