We just wrapped on Road to Recovery!! A film born from the loss of my mother to cancer that transformed into something much bigger — a story about the relationships we hold close, the moments we fight to protect, and the time we’re blessed to share with the people we love. Freddie and Ryan…my powerhouse leads… thank you for believing in me, for showing up every day with your full, beautiful hearts, and for giving more than I could have ever imagined. You elevated this story in ways I’ll be grateful for forever. To my crew who believed in this project and stood behind me… thank you. Truly. Words don’t come close to expressing how grateful I am for each and every one of you. I love you all so much, and I cannot wait for you to see this film. 💫👽
Ryan Kiera Armstrong for the @nytimes and @fxnetworks. 🍁 I had an amazing time photographing Ryan on a beautiful fall day at the @uoft campus. It was one of my favourite editorial shoots to date, considering how free Ryan is in her expressions and movements; she’s willing to portray a wide spectrum of emotions, making her so easy to photograph. She’s only 15, but a seasoned actress already and an absolute star. Thank you to @jolieruben and @elicohen___ for working with me on this assignment. Unique styling by @jenna_filingeri, with beautiful make-up and hair by @sophie.hsin of @plutinogroup. Film developed by @mementofilmlab (in a time crunch, thank you @thejameslai), scanned by me at @g44photo.
