How the fortune ritual works:
1️⃣ Make a prayer or intention
Kneel before the deity, hold the bamboo cylinder, and silently ask about health, career, love, or family.
2️⃣ Shake the cylinder
Hold it at a slight angle and gently shake until one stick falls out — believed to be divinely chosen.
3️⃣ Get your number
Each stick has a number. Take it to the temple counter or fortune teller.
4️⃣ Interpretation
You receive a written fortune slip (usually in Chinese, sometimes with English/Malay translations) — poetic, thoughtful, and full of guidance.
