remember collecting stickers and waiting for the perfect moment to use them only to never do so? Now we look back at that and wonder, WHY? Why didn’t we go around plastering those stickers everywhere we could giving them a home? Life just went on and those sticker books just gathered dust and that love for collecting stickers just disappeared with our childhood..
In that same light in the pursuit of the “PERFECT” body we keep putting off moments try try on certain clothes in the hopes the perfect moment, the perfect body, the perfect occasion arrives. We lose moments to just experiment and have fun with fashion. For countless years I fell into this trap of thinking how mortifying and daunting it would be to wear sleeveless outfits, backless dresses and tops. It was an absolute no for me because I didn’t think I could pull it off. I didn’t think my body was worthy of even attempting those looks. I could only fathom it once I attained the PERFECT body. On the contrary, looking at other curvy women rocking their sleeveless, backless fits I was always in awe, but I couldn’t look at myself in that same lens. All I saw was “flaws” and “imperfections.”
But gone are those days because this summer lots has changed and I’m glad to say I’m now channeling the energy of giving myself grace & having fun with my self expression in fashion. Regardless of what stage my body is in “aesthetically” I am enjoying challenging myself to try different styles to channel and it’s been nothing short of fun & liberating.
So if you’re in a similar boat, I challenge you to give yourself more grace this 2026 & just allow yourself to have fun 💛 I promise you, most of what you think is all in your head. Truthfully, you are deserving of the freedom to experiment and express yourself through fashion however you like & I promise there’s a cheer squad waiting to hype you up & you have a hype woman in me – I’m truly just a DM away 😉
