Growing up in a dance studio taught me a lot about the intersection of movement and fashion. I was always inspired by the way dancers styled their outfits—effortlessly blending function with creativity. In my opinion, they had the best personal style: deconstructing elements to accentuate movement, choosing pieces that were comfortable and durable, and most importantly, expressing their individuality.
I’ve always wanted to bring that same creative, free-spirited dancer energy to apparel.
This first chapter of “First Position” was designed by me and created in partnership with Urban Outfitters. Huge shoutout to them for supporting my vision for the brand and allowing me to begin to actualize an idea that has been brewing for a long time.
I’m so excited to finally bring @firstpositionapparel to life—designing pieces you can move and sweat in, while feeling more inspired than you would in your average sports bras and leggings.
