The night was heralded as an opportunity to celebrate style and substance and the deserving winner @noor.azizah.rohingya encapsulated both on stage.
Noor, a Rohingya refugee’s early life was marked by homelessness and hopelessness. She resettled in Sydney in 2003 after escaping the Rohingya genocide in Myanmar. She is a passionate advocate and educator survivor of genocide who stands as a beacon of strength. As survivor and human rights advocates she used her time behind the microphone to say: “Free Ronhingya means Free Palestine, Free West Papua, Free Sudan and free all oppressed people.”
