I have signed on as Co-Producer of the new Off-Broadway play OTHER! Ari’el Stachel, Tony Award and Grammy Award –winning actor and singer for The Band’s Visit has the most extraordinary story. Raised in California by a Yemenite Israeli father and Ashkenazi Jewish mother, Ari’el’s journey has been shaped by identity struggles, cultural erasure, and resilience. OTHER is a funny, intimate and powerful 1 man show about identity, mental health, and the search for belonging . Ari’el shares his lifelong struggle with OCD and anxiety through raw, humorous, and deeply
moving storytelling. Audiences and critics from DC to California call it a “must-see.” The show blends sharp comedy and
heartfelt honesty, making tough topics like anxiety and self-acceptance relatable to everyone. It’s a story
about finding your voice and living authentically. OTHER is Ari’el’s very personal story filled with humanity and humor. It challenges us to see the Other, to have compassion for the hidden struggles that comes with being alive, but it is a positive, uplifting show.
Ari’el has spent 7 years writing and honing this play and I have watched his journey on social media for 3 years as he performed around the country. When I was invited to be a part of the team, led by 4 time Tony winning producer @mslachanze , I was overjoyed.
