Kari Byron Instagram – 🚨 Major Announcement #2 — as teased last week!
Last year, high school & college students joined @therealkaribyron and me—alongside @cosiscience, @tiesteach, and @stemnextopportunityfund—on Capitol Hill to present an idea we believed could reshape how America sees and supports STEM.
That idea? A bill to establish #NationalSTEMWeek—a week to celebrate students, recognize educators, and engage industry to strengthen the STEM workforce of the future.
The bill made it to Congress in 2024 but ran out of time for a vote. BUT IT’S BACK—and stronger. Huge thanks to Reps. Carey (R-OH) and Beatty (D-OH), and to Senators Ernst (R-IA) and Klobuchar (D-MN), for introducing the House and Senate versions of the bill. Their bi-partisan leadership is to be applauded!
This isn’t just about a date on the calendar. It’s about spotlighting millions of students and educators, fueling innovation, and building the STEM talent pipeline this country needs to remain competitive and innovative!
Conceived by us at @explr_media and brought to life with COSI – Center of Science and Industry, and 100 leading STEM orgs and businesses—we’re just getting started.
To everyone who’s already raised their hand in support: THANK YOU.
