Mandy Moore Instagram – I can’t believe you’re five whole years old. Time is a thief, slowly easing the permanence of the baby years into a soft imprint to make way for the continued magic of the road ahead for you and for us.
I can’t believe I get to be your mom. My thoughtful, curious, kind-hearted, expressive, musical, hilarious, brilliant boy….you are pure light.
I love how every phase you fall into becomes the heartbeat of our house. Construction vehicles, dinosaurs, Legos, Star Wars- your siblings happily follow wherever you lead. You set the tone for all of us.
You amaze us daily with your memory (how do you remember that bookstore in Brooklyn? You were two and a half!) and with your gentle insistence on checking in with everyone around you. You notice people and are concerned when a friend is hurt or upset. You have fully mastered every Lego set you’ve ever opened and have jumped from memorizing your favorite Beatles tunes to insisting on writing your own songs with dad.
Five years of you has been the greatest gift and my wildest dreams realized. I can’t wait to see who you continue becoming and I’m so grateful I get a front-row seat.
