Olivia Wilde Instagram – Still on cloud 9 from the warmth and joy of Sundance and thinking about the process of making The Invite with this wonderful team of actors and writers and I’m just feeling so grateful. These are moments from the workshopping/rehearsal period with @willmccormack and @rashidajones and our brilliant cast. We sat around a table on a soundstage (where the pilot of I Love Lucy was filmed which I couldn’t get over and mentioned several times a day) and poured all of our ideas into this story, as we shaped Will & Rashida’s adaptation of Cesc Gay’s hilarious Spanish film into the movie we’re now so thrilled to bring to theaters thanks to the good folks at @a24 . The generosity of these writers to embrace this brainstorming collective was so profound. The braintrust of Rashida, Will, Seth, Penelope, and Edward was so vulnerable and electric and funny and smart. It was the experience I’ve spent 20 years fantasizing about.
