シリーズ第三弾、解禁です。
演目は「リチャード三世」。森新太郎さんと挑む三度目のシェイクスピアです。今回演じるリチャードは、狡猾で醜い「悪役」の代表格。欲にまみれ、裏切りの限りを尽くす彼は、これまで演じてきた清廉潔白なブルータスや仇討ちハムレットとは対極にあるキャラクターです。けれど今、シリーズ史上一番ワクワクしているかもしれません。劣等感や嫉妬で他人や自分を傷つけながら、憎まれ嫌われ一人の味方もなく死んでいく彼の孤独はどこか他人事でなく、いっそその闇に飛び込んで彼の本心に触れられたらと願うのです。彼が取り憑かれた「支配欲」の源は、純度の高い悪かそれとも愛欲の裏返しか、果たして。
森さんそして百戦錬磨の共演者の皆様と共に、2026年のリチャード三世を作り上げて参ります。どうぞみなさま、お楽しみに。
Shintaro Mori x Shakespeare x Yoh Yoshida
The third installment of the series has been released today.
The play is “Richard III.” This is my third Shakespeare performance with Shintaro Mori. The Richard I’m playing this time is the epitome of a cunning and ugly villain. Driven by greed and betrayal, he’s the polar opposite of the upright and honest Brutus and vengeful Hamlet I’ve played so far. But right now, I think I’m more excited about this role than ever before. His loneliness, hurting both himself and others out of feelings of inferiority and jealousy, and dying without a single ally, hated and despised, is something I can relate to. I wish I could dive into that darkness and experience his true feelings. Is the source of his obsessive desire to dominate pure evil or the flip side of lust?
Together with Mori and my seasoned co-stars, I will create the Richard III of 2026. I hope you all look forward to it.
