CA Sakchi Jain Instagram – FRAUD victims may now get compensation under the new RBI proposal.
RBI has proposed that if a digital payment fraud happens and the customer is not at fault, banks may compensate up to ₹25,000 or 85% of the disputed amount, whichever is lower.
The idea is to give quicker relief to customers who report fraud promptly and strengthen accountability in the banking system.
But this also comes with one important condition: you must report the fraud quickly.
Awareness and timely reporting can make the difference between losing your money and getting it back.
