I think we’ve both been so focused on staying positive that the reality of this situation has come in waves. The reality is this sucks. It’s hard to see someone you love get sick and the aggressiveness of her type of cancer is really scary. I hate that my mom has to go through this. I hate that anyone does. It’s hard on their bodies and their minds. It makes you realize how important it is to spend time together and to let go of anything trivial.
