Hilarie Burton Instagram – We are back with another all new episode of #ItCouldntHappenHere this Thursday 3/5 @10pm on @sundancetv & @amcplus.
This one takes us to Brownstown, Indiana. And while all of our cases come with their own sets of shocking circumstances, the footage that supports this one was unlike anything we had ever seen.
In 2021, Ta’Neasha Chappell, a single mother, is arrested for shoplifting and thrown into the local jail. She is the only Black woman in the jail. While in custody, she mysteriously falls ill. She cries for help for more than 19 hours, but the jail staff disregards her pleas. She ultimately dies in custody.
Our episode features the audio and video recordings of what happened to Ta’Neasha.
🚨 please note the footage is incredibly disturbing and may be too intense for some viewers 🚨
Ta’Neasha’s family has fought tirelessly for justice.
Tune in and say her name: Ta’Neasha Chappell. | Posted on 04/Mar/2026 05:46:21
