That day, I woke up at 2:50 a.m. to hike (or rather, climb, because it was quite steep 🏔️🥵) for two and a half hours to the summit of ‘El Rostro Maya’ 🗿, which you can clearly see in the last photo. I asked myself several times about my need for effort and sacrifice (I still haven’t found the answer 🤣) and why I wasn’t sleeping in and waiting for a sunrise massage… I was accompanied by Miguel, a local guide, and his dog Scott (because guides have guides too ❤️). The sunrise was worth it; seeing Isla witness her first conscious sunrise was invaluable, and receiving this new cycle surrounded by the power of the volcanoes was the best reminder that the best gift will always be being in contact with the earth 🌎 #Guatemala
