Tatiana Maslany Instagram – We wanted to give you a real glimpse into what our monthly orphan sponsorship distributions actually look like on the ground. Here is our team distributing sponsorships to our families in the north at the end of January.
We go house to house, tent to tent, rubble to rubble to make sure every single family receives the cash support we have promised them. There are no centralized pickup points, no long lines, no crowded distribution centers. Our team physically walks to each family because orphan care, to us, is personal.
The distribution days are long. As you can see in this video, our team often works late into the evening to complete the rounds on time. It now takes us nearly a full week to cover all our children because we are supporting over 300 orphaned children across Gaza, Alhamdillulah. That number has grown steadily, and with it, the responsibility.
But these visits are not transactional. We don’t just hand over an envelope and move on. We sit with families. We talk. We ask about their health, their schooling, their housing, their grief, their hopes. We listen carefully to what has changed since last month. Many families offer our team tea or light refreshments, even when they barely have enough for themselves. That gesture alone tells you everything about the relationship that has been built.
They do not see us as an organization passing through. They see us as family. As familiar faces who return consistently. As people who remember them. As support they can rely on.
The children look forward to these visits. For many of them, it is the highlight of their month. In the middle of chaos, our presence becomes something steady.
We could absolutely make this easier on ourselves. We could set up a central distribution point and ask families to come collect their sponsorship. It would save time. It would be more efficient. But it would also create distance, and distance is the last thing orphaned children and widowed mothers need.
We refuse to reduce this work to logistics.
We choose to show up, fully and intentionally, because dignity is not only about what you give. It is about how you give it.
