To the Harvard Black Law Students Association, THANK YOU! To every student and faculty member who challenged me with the most thought-provoking questions, thank you! To my character, Andrea Freeman of “The Lincoln Lawyer”, thank you for the opportunity to play “make-believe” in a field that has fascinated me since undergrad at Brown. And to that 20-year old version of myself, who could see herself on the stage of the United Nations just as much as on the stage of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences… it’s all happening; thank you for staying the course. To conference co-chairs Danielle Geathers and Christopher Egi, thank you so much for calling me in. To former US Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, thank you for your fearless leadership across your extraordinary career (and for our encouraging talk in the green room!). To all of the amazing speakers, it was an honor to share the stage with you. And to the brilliant students devoting their time, energy and passion to the grueling process of law school… we need you! As an artist and a dreamer, I know how important it is to align with the do-ers in positions of power, who’s task is to re-build, re-shape and re-structure systems, so that they can hold the new visions sustainably. I feel so grateful and encouraged knowing that the future leaders of law, business, government, and civic life… look, sound, and feel like you. 🙏🏾

This was the first day of Scorpio Season. And I danced All. Season. Long! As the sun moves into Sagittarius, I give thanks for the birthday wishes, for the Scorpio-heavy group I traveled with to Uganda to work on one of my passion projects, for the seeds planted, the dreams taking root, the family growing and the love expanding… And now, we welcome Sagittarius Season! (The rising that keeps my mouth honest, my heart free, and my booty in airplane seats! 🤣)
