This, to me, captures the context in which Mike Brown exists for so many of us. We didn’t know him, nor do we know the truth of his life, while the truth of his death is violently disputed. His memory can’t be separated from #blacklivesmatter, and there is much to be said about his death being the catalyst for a movement. His life, however, was ended. A shameful price, which we keep paying for so-called awareness. The Divine could speak to us in any language, yet we seem to listen only to fear and death. So, I pray we listen more closely, in Mike’s honor.
