Lisa Ray Instagram – My baba was very determined to visit the oldest temple in #Bali. It’s known as the mother temple, #Besakih. As much as it’s an ancient site, it’s also a living shrine with villagers from all over #Bali shattering its solemn reserve with boisterous good cheer and engaging in rituals. A cremation ceremony was in progress while we were there and I’ve yet to see such a happy group of mourners. Do they know something about the nature of life and death we have missed? Something secret yet in full view of those who are seeking? I need to spend more time in stillness in #Bali to understand.
