Sai Pallavi who rose to fame with her role as Malar in the Malayalam super hit Premam was earlier signed to do the Tamil remake of the Malayalam film Charlie. It was reported that director A.L.Vijay of Madarasapatinam fame will be handling the remake with Madhavan replacing Dulquer Salmaan.
However it seems that the remake of Charlie might take some time to go on floors. Director Vijay has planned to shoot another small budget movie which could be shot within the lesser number of days. Sources close to the director says that this small budget movie will have Sai Pallavi in the lead and is touted to be a horror thriller. The movie is said to revolve around the Sai Pallavi, the protagonist.
It seems the dates agreed from Sai Pallavi for the shoot of Charlie will be used for this movie. The movie will be produced by the Lyca Productions banner and the movie will mark the debut of Sai Pallavi in Tamil Film Industry.
Director A.L.Vijay was last seen in his trilingual outing Devi which had Prabhudeva and Tamannah in the lead.
His next directorial Vanamagan is currently in its post-production stage. Touted to be an action fantasy thriller, the movie has Jayam Ravi playing the head of a tribal group without any knowledge of the civilization. Sayesha Saigal who debuted with Shivaay in Hindi is playing the lead female role. The movie was completely shot in the forests. The trailer and the music album of the movie have already garnered good response from the critics. Harris Jayaraj has collaborated with director Vijay for the first time in this film.
