VIP2 which is the sequel to the 2014 super hit has completed its shooting and is currently in the post-production phase. The movie is being directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth and the lead actors from the original movie have retained their roles in the sequel too. The lead role Raghuvaran is played by Dhanush and Amala Paul is signed again as the female lead.
Actor Dhanush who is a writer and director himself has penned the story and the dialogues for the movie. The movie is being funded by Kalaipuli S Thanu under his V Creations. Sean Roldan has been signed as the music director for this flick.
Apart from the lead actors, actors like Samuthirakani and Vivek also get to retain their roles from the original. Bollywood actress Kajol has been signed to play an important role in the movie. The first look posters of the movie had Dhanush having a faceoff with Kajol. It most likely seems that Dhanush and Kajol are meant to lock horns in the promising flick.
The crew of the movie finished the shooting in a full swing and Superstar Rajinikanth visited the sets of VIP 2 to wish the team good luck on their last day of shooting. Soundarya Rajinikanth is the younger daughter of Superstar Rajinikanth and Dhanush is her brother-in-law.
The team has targeted a July release and it has narrowed down for July 14 as the release date for the movie. The teaser for the movie is targeted for a release in the month of May.
