Unprecedented 8th Wimbledon title in the offing! All the very best to @rogerfederer!
It’s important to take each game as a new one because carrying the highs or the lows from previous games might disturb your mindset. #SachMotivation

This was one close knock-out match between India and South Africa during the ICC CT 2002 Semi-finals on 25th September. Glad we won it. Nail-biter! #ThrowbackThursday
What a fabulous way to end the test series! A big hug to the entire team for their outstanding performance. Good luck for the ODI series!
No matter whether it’s #CountrySide or #WorldCup! It boils down to 1 love – Cricket!! #LittleBerkhamstead
MEET #RajeshwariGayakwad: A small-town girl from Bijapur, who was lucky enough to have a father who loved sports and encouraged all his children to play. Shivanand Gayakwad, your father, is your source of inspiration and encouragement, Rajeshwari. I’m sure you will be that same source of inspiration for many young men and women to come. Well played! Come on, #TeamIndia! All the best, #WomenInBlue! @unicef @icc #CricketForGood
MEET @mithaliraj: Her father, retired Air Force Sergeant Dorai Raj, wanted to combat 8-year-old Mithali’s habit of sleeping in late every morning. So, he took her along with him to her brother’s Cricket coaching sessions early every morning. If anyone had told 8-year-old Mithali Raj that one day she would grow up to break a world record in Women’s ODI Cricket, she may or may not have believed it. All it takes is a moment when talent is recognised and steered in the right direction. It was great speaking with you yesterday, Mithali. You are a tremendous athlete and it’s always amazing to watch you play. Keep up the great work! Come on, #TeamIndia! All the best, #WomenInBlue! @icc @unicef #CricketForGood
MEET #JhulanGoswami: Her reason for being, as long as she can remember, has been to play Cricket for India. Young Jhulan Goswami defied the odds, and family members who thought Cricket wasn’t the ideal profession for her, travelling 80 kms to train in Kolkata. She woke up daily at 4:30 am to take a local train to the city. If that’s not love, what is? Your passion for the game shines through every one of your tremendous performances, Gozzy! You are truly an inspiration. Come on, #TeamIndia! All the best, #WomenInBlue! @icc @unicef #CricketForGood
MEET #HarmanpreetKaur Fondly nicknamed by her fellow athletes as ‘Harry’, Harmanpreet as a child never had a doubt in her mind that she would one day represent India on the Cricket field. Years of hard work and dedication to the sport, combined with the ever-crucial encouragement and support of her parents, helped drive her towards her goal. Dreams do come true! Am I right, Harmanpreet? Come on, #TeamIndia! All the best, #WomenInBlue! @icc @unicef #CricketForGood
Thank you for your kind letter, Supraj! It made my day. Keep working hard! #FanFriday
Happy birthday to one of the best bowlers to have graced the sport, Dennis Lillee! Here’s a small incident from our first meeting.
Congrats namma @tamilthalaivas for a great win the other night! Well done boys! My best wishes for the next game. #NammaMannuNammaGame
MEET #MansiJoshi: Mansi and I have one thing in common … we both love Kishore Kumar songs. This young athlete, like all women athletes, faced insurmountable odds to get where she is today. It has taken hard work, dedication and passion every step of the way. Keep up the enthusiasm, Mansi! We are with you. Come on, #TeamIndia! All the best, #WomenInBlue! @icc @unicef #CricketForGood
To play the #UpperCut, you first have to understand the bounce off the pitch. The bounce has to be good enough to play the shot. The line of the ball has to be away from the body. Exactly align yourself to be as if you are playing the cut shot, slash hard at the ball and don’t look to close the face of the bat. The shot played over slip fielders is played differently and thats a scoop shot, not exactly an upper cut. #WhackItWednesday

MEET #DeeptiSharma: Her journey on the road to Cricket greatness began early, and the help and support of a loving and encouraging brother, Sumit Sharma, helped her reach her ultimate goal… to play for her country. Deepti, I’ve heard stories of your childhood where, while watching your brother’s Cricket practice, you threw a ball from the line and broke the wicket. Your stunning precision remains to this day. You and I are both lucky to have the brothers that we do. Always a pleasure to watch you on the field. Keep up the great work! Come on, #TeamIndia! All the best, #WomenInBlue! @icc @unicef #CricketForGood

To play the #FlickShot, first understand the nature of the wicket, if the ball is seaming off the wicket, it is important to continue holding on to your side on position and wait for the ball to come. The shot is played only with your hands and the face of the bat, you do not have to open your body to play the flick shot. For a right hander, keep your left shoulder intact and don’t let your right shoulder open up. Roll your wrists and guide the ball with the face of the bat wherever you want, on the front foot. To play the flick shot off the back foot, play it on a short of length ball, the wicket needs to have a bit of bounce. Go back onto your toes, take the ball into your body and be on top of the ball and roll your wrists. One can open the shoulder after the impact of the ball and have a good follow through either on the front foot or back foot. #WhackItWednesday
Sport is a feeling. A drive to test the limits and challenge the odds. Most of all, to challenge ourselves. Go for it! #GoBeyond
