The much awaited thalapathy Vijay’s Mersal was the only contender for the festive weekend so far. But recent proceedings in the industry have added up another two films in the list of Diwali race. Meyadha Maan and Chennaiyil Oru Naal 2 are the two films that are releasing alongside Mersal this Diwali.
Meyadha Maan directed by debutant Rathna Kumar has Vaibhav and Priya Bhavani Shankar in the lead. Ace music director Santhosh Narayanan along with his friend and singer Pradeep Kumar has taken care of music for this venture. The promising trailer and the songs from the movie have already become hit among the audience. The ‘Thangachi’ song from the album that was released as a single topped the charts upon release, and became a sensation in no time.
Chennaiyil Oru Naal 2 is a thriller of sorts coming from a debutant director JPR which has Sarathkumar playing the lead role. Napolean and Suhasini have also played important roles in the movie. Ron Ethan Yohan of Maaya fame has composed music for the movie. Touted to have been adapted from a Rajesh kumar novel, the movie is said to be based on the incidents that happen within a day. Sarathkumar is said to play an undercover cop in the flick.
Mersal becomes the second film for director Atlee with Thalapathy Vijay, who plays a triple role in the movie. Oscar award winning composer A R Rahman has composed tunes for the movie. The album has already emerged as a winner and the teaser for the movie that got released recently has broken the YouTube record for the most liked movie Teaser. Kajal Agarwal, Samantha Akkineni and Nithya Menen play the three female leads in the movie while S J Surya is playing the baddie. Ace writer Vijayendra Prasad has scripted the screenplay for Mersal.
