Lisa Ray Instagram – ‘Let Food be thy Medicine’ is not only a statement attributed to Ancient Greek philosopher #Hippocrates, but has become a way of life as a Cancer Graduate. As a Multiple Myeloma patient, I’m on life saving maintenance therapy, which means I’m meant to take strong medication to control my condition for the rest of my life. The meds I’m on have a long list of side effects- including rashes and depleted energy. I have none 🙏 and I attribute part of this to my efforts to eat clean, organic and balanced meals. I’m not fanatical (because…LIFE!) and follow the 80-20 rule: I eat clean 80 percent of the time.
But I also schedule a detoxifying and rejuvenating retreat at least once a year, to flush out toxic overload from not just my medication but everything we’re collectively exposed to in the world.
Today, there’s so many delicious options in clean eating – and your body will thank you for it.
My breakfast bowl @hiltonshillimretreatandspa is an example. Made with fresh, sustainable, delicious ingredients, it’s a mouthful of sunshine. Not pictured is my ragi idli and dosa. Healthy eating heals you from the inside out and has a positive impact on your skin glow factor as well as many, many other benefits. Easier said than done, it is much easier to shift your eating habits on a wellness program. I’m so kicked to discover an amazing one @hiltonshillimretreatandspa where the food by @shubhendu_kadam is inspiring a fresh, healthy reboot for 2018.
Ironic, isn’t it, I had to get sick to get well 💕
