Of the youth who GLESN UP
And asked their parents to listen up
When our children speak up
Insisting we the parents remain teachable
Reachable
She shone a light
Out past the eerie communal nightmare
That is our overwhelmingly divisive White House
And basked in the light of hope
Cast by youth
Who must be our truth
GLSEN UP
A movement of action-takers and change-makers
Who aspire to douse the flames of exclusion
Who understand that their leadership
Through the robustness of their might
Can right
Our capricious socio-political ship
I congratulate her for her words
And for the respect she more than deserves
I raise a glass to that respect
And to my sista
