In 1999 a boy killed 12 students, 1 teacher and injured 21 at Columbine. Everyone endures lifelong trauma from that day. My friend Dawn Anna, mother of the beautiful Lauren Townsend, killed in the library that day, allowed my husband Arliss Howard and I to tell her story in 2005. Year after year, we attended the #millionmommarch hoping to enact at least #sensiblegunlaws. Every year the numbers at the rallies dwindled, until there were only the moms holding pictures of their dead children, and maybe a few others. Disheartening. Quintessentially American , unfortunately. We need change. I pray it comes with these marches and this new young energy to see the insanity for what it is. #dawnanna #laurentownsend #columbine #guncontrol #marchforourlives #moneyoutofpolitics #endcitizensunited #americanpromise #april20th #everytown #28thamendment

#april29 the anniversary of the birth of my first son. We never know where the road leads. We sometimes think we do, and follow paths only to remember we don’t know. Keep a strong aim. A big wish. And an open mind.
