#TBT 10 April 2000, on a direct line to Yahoo! HQ (remember when phones had cords?). They were taking questions online, which I answered on the phone, to be typed in by somebody else at Yahoo! My first Internet “chat” though by that time my website was already 3 years old!

Today marks the start of Pride Month. It has always been and remains important to celebrate the influence of the LGBTQ+ community as well as raise awareness about our rights. In McKellen: Playing the Part, I look back on my involvement in @stonewalluk & campaigning against anti-gay laws in the UK.

#FBF 22 July 2000; The longest limo ride from Los Angeles to San Diego for #COMICCON … Almost 5 hours in traffic. Luckily my friend Jeff Burkhart kept me entertained. We arrived about a minute before I was scheduled to be on stage.
To everyone in New York – the director of McKellen: Playing the Part and my good friend, @joestephenson, will be doing an introduction before the film at @thelandmark57w on 19 June. He will also be doing a Q&A after the screening at @symphonyspace.
I’m sure you will be treated to unique insights into what went into making the film and the art of filmmaking in general.
Tickets are available here: https://www.symphonyspace.org/event/10138/Film/mckellen-playing-the-part
Here are my friends @michaelsoendergaard and Richard Wilson at Thursday night’s opening of the new exhibition at https://www.thelittleblackgallery.com/ including Michael’s brilliant photos (@greggormanphoto and Stuart Sandford’s too!) Go see them!
Just two weeks to go until the release of McKellen: Playing the Part in US theaters. Visit www. McKellenfilm.com to find your nearest theater and tickets.
In just a few hours we will broadcast live to cinemas around the world. Find a screen near you (I hope) at ntlive.com to see Lloyd Hutchinson (as Fool), Sinead Cusack (as Kent) and me as Lear #KingLear (c) @matthumphreyimages
