Ashish Vidyarthi Instagram – Let’s do some role play today.. Let’s play Doctor Doctor.. There has never been a debate on the value of doing anything with precision.. Let’s look at two steps preceding it, that add dimensions to this precision… A method we shall illustrate by playing Doc… Ready Doctor? Aspects beyond the obvious appear magically, when we invest in taking a deep look at anything we are dealing with. It’s a whole lot like diagnosis, that medical Doctors are known for. They look deeper than the narrative given to them by the patients.. They know the difference between the symptoms and the deeper cause. They spend time delving into aspects to get the right diagnosis, for they know, that is what shall determine the action they shall prescribe. The next step Doctors take is also wired in very early on in their training… to be in communication with others. This is not just to share what they have observed (diagnosed) , but also to hear other experts opinions. Anything that can light up a lacuna for them. Communicating wide allows us to share our perspective with a larger set, such that they are in the loop, while at the same time it allows them to add their perspective to our understanding.. We never know where the gold vein maybe. And finally ofcourse is the action, the precise one that a doctor takes.. Knowing fully well that in whichever way… A life is at stake. The Doctor will be known for effectiveness she has, in impacting critical issues. As we invest ourselves in thinking deep, we increase our expertise to look beyond the obvious.. As we then follow it with communicating with our teams and all concerned, our understanding of the topic is further illuminated by others point of view. This also gives the team a stake in the precise action that shall now follow. An action which is precise and powerful and for which we take complete Accountability and ownership . This is my take.. Ashish Vidyarthi Instagram – Had the privilege to engage with the top notch at PWC.. And what an insightful process it was. Sharing a snippet of the Work life conversation. Let’s face it… We get paid to do our work… We don’t get paid for living our passion or to nurture relationships. We as professionals go about giving our best in the professional arena, for not only are we getting paid for it, there is a possibility that we shall get paid even more, if we produce the results we are expected to produce. The best is therefore made available to those who pay us for it. And that’s how our “professional” journey continues.. But we also have other wants , that personal life shouts out to us… Through the mouths of our relatives,Parent, spouse, child and the self… These “demands” usually sound very shrill, as they seem to want something , which  we feel is already “sold to “, the organisation… Our time and attention. This pull of the purse and the tug of the heart invariably leads to an unworkabilility in life… Wherein the professional sees plumetting results in each segment of Life…. A burnout. Let’s now slightly alter the narrative.. How will it be if we can see that our organisation is paying for us to be an energized , invigorated performer.. Not one who is feeling stressed and edgy and therefore a crib filled professional… What if we can see the value of nurturing our life in areas beyond our immediate job responsibility.. Trust me, as I nurture areas of life far removed from my core areas of work… I find a further accomplished professional reporting for work.. The invite is to look beyond work & life balance.. But to begin to look at Life and our accomplishments while we are alive.
