Lisa Ray Instagram – Somehow I’m compelled to repost this song from #Kasoor, a movie I did in the 90s, when it showed up on my feed. Different self, a lifetime ago. I’ve been writing and reflecting on various phases of my life, attempting to unravel the personal pain I lived at the height of my fame, and how that taught me very quickly to seek meaning beyond the trappings of what the world defines as ‘success’. I haven’t seen these songs in a long time, and in fact I used to refuse to watch my film work as all I could perceive was flaws. Today I can look look back with compassion for that flailing girl, trying to find her voice while a playback singer sang, beautifully, picking out words that belonged not to me.
