Lisa Ray Instagram – Ten years ago, much to my surprise, I found myself on a list of Hello! Canada’s 50 Most Beautiful Canadians. But remaking myself has been a process of shedding: ideas of who I am, unnecessary opinions and beliefs imposed from the outside. I don’t want to be judged merely by how I look. It’s something I’ve struggled with my whole life, even while I pursued different creative tracks that didn’t involve my appearance. Feeling whole in myself and embodying my values has been the on going journey. Sure, we enjoy validation but when we see who we really are, our limitless potential, transcending labels comes naturally, even if the world doesn’t keep up.
