Jay Hernandez Instagram – The first time I stepped into Notre Dame I was stunned. Not simply as a lover of architecture and history but also because of the sheer gravity it imposed. Such a monumental human effort, such beauty. This house of worship was created to bring humanity closer to the heavens and the way sound would echo off the walls and light would beam through the ornately stained glass I must say, it did. It inspired awe, humility. You couldn’t help but think about humankind’s unending struggle for answers, continuity, permanence. Perhaps all the more poignant now.
