And on the seventh day he rose again…to shoot the penultimate episode of Magnum P.I. In the unforgiving ocean, experiencing periodic lashings of rain and wind during the coldest day of the year, at times dropping his core temperature to dangerous levels whilst the ternderest of bits were feasted upon by “sea fleas” only to be roused from death by an intermittent feeding of gruel procured from “lunch boat.” Please support this poor soul and watch tonight’s episode of #magnumpi on @cbstvstudios

Day 15 Bikini atoll. I have yet to spot any passers by, save the radiated dolphins that I’ve concluded have ill intentions. I’ve exhausted my rations of spam & whiskey and must now indulge in local sea slugs whose unfortunate phallic shape displeases me. If I can be roused from sloth I must tackle the most pressing issue, to learn how to make spirits out of the local flora before nightfall. God be with me.
For me, Rothko represents one of the most intimate interactions between artist and observer. Without distinct form pushing you in a given direction his work allows the observer to superimpose (unimpeded), his own psychology onto the art creating a unique interaction. From afar his work appears almost monolithic but upon closer inspection the intricacies, layers, brushstrokes and intention reveal themselves in the same way people do. #markrothko #master

Moment of Zen.
The first time I stepped into Notre Dame I was stunned. Not simply as a lover of architecture and history but also because of the sheer gravity it imposed. Such a monumental human effort, such beauty. This house of worship was created to bring humanity closer to the heavens and the way sound would echo off the walls and light would beam through the ornately stained glass I must say, it did. It inspired awe, humility. You couldn’t help but think about humankind’s unending struggle for answers, continuity, permanence. Perhaps all the more poignant now. A sad day indeed. #notredame #paris
