Home Actress Lisa Ray Instagram Photos and Posts – June 2019 Part 2 Lisa Ray Instagram - Repost from @karunaezara using @RepostRegramApp - It's taken me more than a couple of weeks to compose this post because I wanted to absorb everything before putting it into words. Meeting @LisaRaniRay and launching her memoir @CloseToTheBone.Book in Kolkata... were both big deal moments for me, for sure. But bigger than them, was the process of reading the book...which turned over those days into something spiritual for me. In my work I've always struggled with the question - who and what am I exactly? Am I a model? A writer? A poet or an "influencer" (whatever that might be). Do I want to shoot more? Do I want to stop everything and go back to Mysore to continue my yoga practice. How does my mixed heritage and culture influence my identity and social contribution? How does it make me different? How am I the same/ relateable? What can I do to help save and feel closer to the Earth? And then the bigger ones - what are my roles as a friend, a daughter, a wife? How do they combine with my individuality? And most important - What do I want to give voice to? Our gurus don't always come packaged as we expect they will. Reading Lisa's book, then meeting her, then sitting telling stories under the Calcutta night sky with wind-whipped hair, all reminded me of that and helped me answer within me some of those questions. Sometimes we're lucky enough to be right about the people we look up to. Sometimes, we're fortunate enough to find our guides. I urge you all to read Lisa's incredible, honest, funny, smart, soulful book, and I hope it does for you what it did for me. Thank you Lisa, for being guru, sister, guide and girlfriend. ❤️❤️❤️ . . Thank you @harpercollinsin and @experimenterkol for a remarkable evening.
