Surveen Chawla Instagram – I think a lot of women out there will be able to relate to this video. Like for me, I noticed that the vows exchanged on every wedding were narrated by someone else and had really sexist connotations. It dint feel like it was about two people starting a journey together as equals. Imagine so many couples, taking the same vows over and over again without even understanding the meaning behind them. I didn’t want to be one of them. Akshay and I wrote our own vows, we included our own promises to fill our life with love, respect and appreciation for each other. Just because a ritual has been in practice for years, does not mean that we cannot change them or to say the least we should be able to tweak and customise them and make additions while staying true to ourselves and yet respecting everyone else’s sentiments…Need inspiration from a real wedding just like mine?
