Repost from @karunaezara using @RepostRegramApp - For my 2000th post, here's something important: • Clean water across the world is running out. • Our water comes from rivers, lakes, ice, soil, snow and groundwater. This last one which made up 30% of the planet's water, is contained in aquifers. In 2015 @NASA satellite images showed that of the 37 aquifers on Earth, 21 have declined. • Since the year 2000 already, people have been warring against the privatisation of water across the world. India too has come under pressure from the World Bank to do the same and sell ours. Eventually private companies will control most of the world's water, and we will all be paying through our teeth for the last few drops of it. • Of course it is the poor who will suffer most, like in Chennai right now, which is why most of us on this platform dont care enough. But eventually, all of us will have to face the crisis. • More than 800 million people on Earth lack access to clean water. That's already 1 in 9 humans. • What officials like to call "drought" is in fact a #WaterCrisis. • Why can't we use all that seawater? Desalination (removing salt from seawater) is extremely expensive and not very energy efficient. • So what do we do to fix it now? Let me tell you a story. In Nizamuddin East, Delhi, the residents came together recently, and with 2 Lakh rupees total, decided to set up their own water harvesting system in order to filter and replenish groundwater levels. Guess what? It's working. Where our governments are failing us, it's time to take action. If your area, colony or building has a society, secretary or welfare association, now is the time to call a meeting, get involved and begin work. We no longer have the luxury of avoiding public participation. • Sign the petition in my bio - it's time @mygovindia and @narendramodi declared a Climate Emergency. Better now than later. Better now than when it's too late. 💙🌎🙏🏽 . . . #ClimateEmergency #watercrisisinchennai #ourplanet #2000thPost

Lisa Ray Instagram – The World says : train tougher, workout harder, go to your edge whereas Experience says : the opposite is true. Training smarter in my 40s means accessing a softness, a meditative mindset and then using breath to dance a bit with gravity and resistance. It’s fun, anti-obsessive and I emerge energized not drained. Mind you, I’m full of the wind dosha so I have to be mindful of grounding myself, and use slow, deliberate movements to tame that Vata!
