Strategies such as getting them to focus on how fortunate they are, filling their hearts and minds with gratitude, encouraging individual interests and reinforcing how much they are loved as well as their uniqueness will hopefully make it not as easy to feel resentful towards their sissy when she snatches the favourite fork away. By the way this is all uncharted territory for me as I grew up a blissfully introverted single child, running through my suburban Toronto neighbourhood, unchaperoned for hours a day.
