I tend to get made fun of for not having watched many movies growing up but it’s because I pretty much lived in libraries part time. If I have time I can down multiple books a week and with acting that turned into scripts. 🙈 So thank you @disneyplus for helping me catch up on what I missed. So far I’ve watched Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Lion King all for the very first time… No you’re the weirdo! ⠀ ⠀ What are your favorite movies I should definitely watch?
#10yearchallenge headshot edition… check out my acting insta story highlight to see my headshots 2007 – 2020 🙈 ps. anyone who comments that I look the same does so at their own risk 😤 I’m a big kid now!
NEW YEAR / DECADE GOALS: None!? I’ve been known to be one to cry on New Year’s Eve. It’s a mixture of excitement, joy, gratitude but also overwhelm, anxiety and fear. It’s can be overwhelming to look ahead at a brand new year! One of my main goals and intention for 2020 is to take each day one tiny step at a time. I usually have a long list of goals/deadlines I want to accomplish each year but then I get disappointed if I don’t achieve some of them even if I accomplished other things instead. So this year I’m going to just keep working hard. Of course I’ll still have goals I’m working towards but I’m going to try to hold them and the journey to get to them with a loose grip… That’s a TALL order for me haha. If I had full control of my life I would plan it by the second. No, I’m not a type-A/hard 1 on the enneagram… not at all 😂 As an actress I have almost no control over my schedule so… let’s see how this goes… HAPPY NEW YEARS FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you all have a wonderful night and a FANTASTIC new year full of smiles! ⠀
Let me introduce you to this beauty, @rasmeetmohar aka Razzy, aka Razzle Dazzle. PLEASE send all good thoughts, brain power and prayers her way – not that she needs it… this beautiful woman is about to take her Bar Exam!!!!!!!!!! Proud and always in awe of you @rasmeetmohar⠀ ⠀ Raz and I go WAY back. We met and bonded because I was constantly playing her understudy in our middle school theater productions. No joke, I played her SHADOW in “A Series of Unfortunate Events”. At first it was because we’re both 5’0 (if we’re rounding up…), but we quickly became inseparable and still call each other long distance sisters. It’s crazy how much of my personality I owe to our middle school years… we learned how to straighten our unruly ethnic hair that was a chia pet waiting to happen in the Vancouver humidity. We were the ultimate teachers pets 🙈 and we dreamt crazy dreams together about our hopes for the future. I dreamt of one day coming out of her shadow as an actress 😋 and she already knew she was going to be the best lawyer. ⠀ ⠀ So please join me in congratulating this hard working stunner of a woman! Cheers to working hard on our dreams and making our middle school selves proud 13 years later. 🥂 ⠀
🚨TONIGHT is your last chance to watch FACE 2 FACE on @netflix 🚨 The time has come… I just found out that Face2Face has ended its cycle on Neftlix 😭 Sigh… long live Face 2 Face. I won’t go on a long rant about how much this project means to me on every level but I will say that I love that it’s still so relevant today as it was when we shot it. So if you haven’t seen it, check out our labor of love 🙏🏻 EDIT: it will still be available for individual sale on iTunes and Amazon Prime!

Caught in my happy place 💆🏻♀️⠀ Each November I choose the art medium I enjoyed most throughout the year and do a craft for my family and gift exchanges! 2017 I did watercolor canvases, last year I did metal work and wire jewelry. In 2019 I fell back in love with pyrography aka wood burning 😍 it is such a relaxing medium. You have to go so slowly over each line and get the temperature just right… I just love it! Swipe left to see some of the pieces burned. A couple of pieces have some text blurred out for privacy) Michaels had some stunning birch slabs this year too… don’t leave me alone at Michaels hahah!⠀ ⠀ If anyone wants to get into wood burning, @elysianwoods has a great intro to woodburning book that was super helpful in picking wood burning back up. I used @walnuthollow ‘s creative burning tool (Hobby Lobby had a killer sale when I bought it). And both @hobbylobby and @michaelsstores have great wood for beginners. @elysianwoods ‘ book has more details on what kind of wood and tools to get. ⠀

Once a tree hugger, always a tree hugger 🌳 especially when you come across a fiery little baby. Fellow tree huggers, don’t come at me. I didn’t lean on him, I was very careful – hence the awkward pose 🤓
I am straight up Doug from Up when I’m out in nature. Don’t expect me to keep any semblance of a conversation going unless I try really hard. I don’t just notice squirrels… I notice and stop for all flowers and plants 🙈 Lately, I’ve been obsessed with shapes and textures! I can’t believe how many different colors, shapes and textures exist in nature. Sharp lines, silly shapes, unreal colors… have you ever tried to notice all of these in nature? Because I paint, I’ve trained myself to notice all of the different colors that make up a single tree or flower. Every little detail is a masterpiece. Can’t stop, won’t stop smelling flowers and hugging trees. ✌🏻 🌸 🌲
Parents, watch out! If you tell your kid they can be and do anything they want if they work hard… they might believe you. This is a picture of two very brave parents and a presumptuous 16 year old. 10 years ago this week, my parents put me on a plane from Vancouver to LAX with my dream and a terrible cardigan. I somehow convinced them through a PowerPoint (OG type a teachers pet status) that I needed to come down for pilot season (every year January – February, tv networks hold auditions for new tv shows that they are testing out before making them into series) so I could try my luck in LA… They said no way at first unless I managed to secure a few things they were sure wouldn’t happen: I had to take an exam to get my US high school diploma so that I could be allowed to work as a minor, get a US work permit, and representation. Through hard work, a series of miracles and a fairy godmother – all 3 contingencies came through and some. You should have seen the look on my parents face as the contingencies got crossed off… They stayed true to their word and kept their promise. My first year in LA, plane tickets home were booked 3 times but never boarded. Every time we thought I had exceeded my luck, I would book my next job… and 10 years later I’m still here and preparing for my 11th pilot season in LA. Absolute madness. It takes a massive village to be an actor! Reps that work around the clock, Headshot photographers, headshot print shops, acting coaches, voice teachers, friends who help you with self tapes and running lines, a community to keep you sane and hug you between rejections and successes… Forever grateful to everyone who has helped me along the way! I only did part of the work. And the craziest part is… I don’t know that I would be brave enough to do this again as an adult! Sorry mom and dad but I really did have to move out at 16 with all of the naïveté that one has at that age… glad it worked out 🙈?

Swipe left to see a couple of pairs. 🚨 Perfect for anyone who needs last minute diy present ideas!!!! 🚨 Not easy but SO fun… RIP 2020 arts & crafts budget, I found a new medium I love… yes, it’s a discretionary category in my budget. Don’t judge 🙈 @chelseatzhang why did you have to give us this brilliant idea?! Ps. None of these earrings are my original designs. Copying @pinterest forever.
