It’s so well done and looks just like me! @punchypeaches I love this! Thank you for being such a dedicated fan and for making my Tracy part of you and your life forever! May the spirit and love of Tracy forever be with you! Rock on girl! This is epic! #TracyTurnbladTattoo #MyFace #LoveIt #IMPermanent PS well done @ali_burke_tattoo ! Ok I bought into the whole 10 year thing. The left is 2009 and the right is last month. I don’t know how much has changed but I know my heart has gotten stronger and I’m really learning to enjoy the skin I’m in. We only get one shot at life make it count and make it a good one. #tenyearchallenge Tracy Turnblad Halloween costumes 2019 edition. It always puts a smile on my face & warms my heart when people dress up as Tracy for Halloween, it shows me that they didn’t just see the movie and dance and sing to it but it shows me they learned from her & they took something away from her message. Tracy’s message of love and acceptance for all should be something we all practice every day. The 1960’s were a tough time for our country and it saddens me that so many years later things aren’t in much of a better state but one of the most important things I learned from Tracy was to stand up for what you believe in, we can either spend our lives complaining about the state of our nation or we can stand up and be fearless leaders and do something about it. Lead by example, by being good, loving, accepting people. I urge You all to find your inner Tracy and fight for what’s right. As Tracy famously says in Hairspray “things need to change and I won’t stop trying to change them I don’t care how long it takes” if we all have this mentality and spirit we can go along way in life and make this world a better place. Thank you to those who brought Tracy to life once again this Halloween! I love and appreciate you all and I can’t wait to see what you all cook up in 2020! Till next Halloween… About last night! What an incredible night! It was an absolute honor to perform at a birthday party for @marc_shaiman Marc is the incredibly talented man behind the music of Hairspray! I always knew how amazing he was but to see the extent of his work on films such as “When Harry Met Sally”, “Sister Act”, “Hairspray” and the new Mary Poppins Film was so inspiring. Marc, Along with the producers and director @adamshankman made my dreams come true 12 years ago when they cast me in the film version of “Hairspray”. Being there last night reminded me how incredibly lucky I am that they chose me. Life can be funny sometimes, one day you’re just a high school kid from Long Island working in a ice cream store and the next you’re on set working with John Travolta and Christopher Walken as your movie parents. I’ll never fully be able to express the amount of gratitude and love I have for Marc and the crew, they changed my life but not just by giving me a part in a movie, they gave me a once in a lifetime chance to be the best version of myself and to live out my wildest dreams. Last night I sat there and listened to Bette Midler and Billy Crystal give speeches and watched Jennifer Lewis bring the house down with a performance. I sat there and found myself saying “how did I get here?” Well I’ll tell you how, I was a kid with a dream and those people that worked on Hairspray decided to give that kid a shot and here I stand so many years later. The moral of the story is never give up, no matter how scary life is sometimes, if you have a burning passion inside of you to do something and accomplish your dreams then please go for it! My Nanny always used to tell me “you never know unless you try” and boy was she right! I tried and I did it and if I can do it I promise you that you all can too! Find your confidence, find your passion, find your drive and go full steam ahead because the only person that can get in your way and stop you is YOU!!! Last night was so incredible on so many levels, I found myself happily reminiscing about a film I worked on with all of these great people but I also found myself more excited than ever for the future. Thanks for having me Marc! Me and you @gspot1986 😍❤️ My amazing fan @stephen_jup made this for me! It’s so incredibly sweet of him and it totally made my day! Thanks buddy and I’m a fan of you because you are an amazingly kind, smart and caring young man! You’re a great human being and having fans like you makes my job even more rewarding than it already is! Thanks my friend! #IHaveTheBestFans It’s with an extremely heavy heart that I share with you the passing of my pug Rocky. He was the light of my life and the love of my life. He was my life. We grew up together and shared so much. He was with me through the greatest times of my life and the absolute worst times of my life. He was so strong and had the kindest heart of any dog I’ve ever met. He was given to me as a gift from My aunt who is now passed and he was so much more then a dog he was everything. He was my best friend, my confidant, my buddy but most of all he was my heart. He was so kind and gentle. I’ll never forget filming Hairspray and when my birthday rolled around on this day just 13 years ago everyone kept asking me what I wanted for my birthday, the answer for me was simple, I wanted Rocky to come live up in Canada with me while I was shooting. So my dad being the amazing man he is packed Rocky and his stuff up and brought him up to Canada to live with me. He was the set dog, everybody loved Rocky, I would see John Travolta and Queen Latifah walking around holding him. Everyone loved him, you could not not love Rocky. Yesterday he just simply stopped breathing. He was 14 years old but boy did we have one hell of a run! Life won’t be the same without his love and his kisses, I don’t know who to go to now with my deepest thoughts, that dog knew more about me than anyone ever could. I spoke to him and he spoke to me. We shared loves, laughs happy times and sad times but through it all Rocky was there by my side. I will miss him more then he’ll ever know and my heart is aching as I write this and tears are streaming down my face. We were beyond lucky to have him. Rocky my love, please know that you gave me the best 14 years of my life, our bond was something I cherished more than anything in life, I miss you so much already and I love you with all me. You were my world and you will always live on in my heart. I know Uncle Steve has already walked you into heaven and got you some of your favorite chicken nuggets. You were the best and no dog could ever take your place! Save a spot in heaven for me little guy I love you! Until we meet again my love. – Nikki Absolutely in love with my new @cameo Nike Air Force 1’s! These are some sick kicks! Thanks @cameo you guys are simply the best! I know I posted this pic before but it’s one of my favorites. Dr. Pamela Levy is my favorite person alive that is ever she’s my favorite human. This woman single handedly helped me built my voice, build my confidence and build my career. I’ve had a lot of great teachers in my life but Dr. Levy taught me in high school. She taught me the role of Carmen for our high schools production of the opera Carmen. This woman sat with me for 6 months every day after school and some weekends and taught me the opera note by note French word by French word helping my French interepreter to make sure I got it down. She worked so hard to teach me every song and also senior year she helped me prepare for a movie audition I had for the role of Tracy in Hairspray. Every day after school we’d rehearse whatever shoe we are doing and then we rehearse my audition material. She made sure I knew what I was doing and she was there for me every step of the way for the 6 months of my movie auditions and when I got the movie she was proud of me but let me go and do it and experience it for myself and when I came home we always found ourselves having sushi at our favorite sushi place and talking about old times. We’ve shared many a laughs Dr. Levy and we’ve even cried sometimes you were there for me when my uncle passed. You went above and beyond. You are my mentor, I’m idol, my musical guru but you’re not just these things you’re my friend and I adore you. Thank you for always being there for me and for reminding me I got this! I’m so thankful you were put on this earth. You truly do change the lives of all the students you’ve taught over your several decade long career. You teach them your teachings you leavened from years of hard work and studying at a prestigious college and then going onto becoming a Doctor in music and teach at South High in Great Neck, NY @greatneckpubilcschools and at the prestigious Manhattan School of music on the weekends all while teaching at south, having a home and loving husband and son and then recently taking acting lesson all while caring for your mother so kindly during her her last years. You are the definition of the word lady. I love you & I thank you I’m so excited to announce that I will be at The Austin International Drag Festival @austindragfest November 15th-17th.
