Luke Arnold Instagram – #WhereIWrote Part 2 WAAPA, Perth, Australia, 2004-2006 Following in the footsteps of legends like @thehughjackman and Frances O’Conner (who I’ll soon be appearing with in ‘The End’) I was lucky enough to get my over-eager, baby-faced self into the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. I was busy most of the time trying to work out how to be a half- decent actor but during the Easter holidays in 2005 I stayed in Perth and spent the whole break typing away at an unplanned and messy version of a fantasy story. There was a walled city hidden inside a land of magical creatures and a few plot pieces that are still in the book today. I wrote about 20,000 words and drew a few character portraits before putting it aside to focus on the skills that would define the next decade of my life – bringing scripts to life and drinking like a pirate.
