Luke Arnold Instagram – ##WhereIWrote Part 3! TEN YEARS LATER – after forgetting about my own writing and focusing on other people’s worlds for a while, I found myself in Cape Town pretending to be a pirate. In 2014, I sat down and smashed out a short story about a Man for Hire looking for a missing Vampire teacher. This was the first version that bears any resemblance to the final book. The first person to read it was with incredible @jparkerk3 who gave me enough positive feedback for me to keep tinkering with it. I had the idea of writing a bunch of short stories about this guy and maybe putting them all together in a book one day. My dear friend @stevenlochran who knows far more about publishing than I do, told me that a book of short stories is rarely an exciting pitch for a publisher and I should think about turning it into a novel.
