Hello there. Been a while. This is the first of hopefully many days in the studio this year. Who knows where it will lead, it’s not about that… I know I just desperately need some musical me time. I have no idea what you call this thing or where it’s from but it’s one of the many weirdly wonderful challenging instruments my sister bought me every year! It felt like a good place to start. I’ve never really managed to get a sound out of it but today I discovered a cog! I turned it and now I can get some notes out of it without losing my breath! A small step! I’ll post how I get on with it later. Anyone know what the hell it is? Sending love to you all in what feels like dark times. I know my leases are not so rosy these days but boy, what is with 2020?! We gotta do what we can I guess and what I can and need to do, is get creative with what I got. Xx

It’s been a long time but our old piano is finally singing again thanks to our amazing local piano man! So many notes were sticking or not playing at all. I thought it would never recover…. then when the action was taken out…what did we discover? Hope you’re ok out there. Xxx much love xxx
Look at this gorgeous girl! The other night, family Heap-Lebor were in the barn as I finished off filming with @michaellebor a talk/glove demo/quite cool little film for something that is no longer in person….and Scout ended up (and really enjoyed) falling asleep in there so much, that this evening, she asked me to move her bed into my studio. Falling asleep in different places appears to be her new thing during lockdown. Where next? The kitchen or in the bath perhaps? Gotta keep things fresh 🙂 I hadn’t planned on being in the studio tonight but as it turned out, she showed me it was still possible, even all at home, together, to enjoy writing and working through the night. I found a lovely piano demo song idea I wrote in August about being so grateful I’d escaped death a few times to feel such happiness in motherhood. Looking at her this evening it felt perfect to vibe on. Fired up @endlesssfm and made some awesome bass line and half time/double time beats/vocals with it!!! Xx small wins xx sending the love xx
Popping my head above water to say hello. I’ve not been myself as of late but nothing like what’s going in the world to help one feel a little more normal in comparison! Looking forward to reconnecting and sharing some musical messages. Maybe even together with some of you online as we used to! Preparing today a bit more for a longer stretch at home. Hello again. Thank you for all your beautiful messages and kindness. It really means the world to me. Today, it’s my birthday and every year, I use it as an excuse to do something experimental or fun. This year however, things are very different for me and my family and it doesn’t feel right to do what was planned but I still want to do something positive!
