Lisa Ray Instagram – Repost from @ravimishraindia using @RepostRegramApp – I have learned that if you must leave a place that you have lived in and loved and where all your yesteryears are buried deep, leave it any way except a slow way, leave it the fastest way you can. Never turn back and never believe that an hour you remember is a better hour because it is dead. Passed years seem safe ones, vanquished ones, while the future lives in a cloud, formidable from a distance.

Lisa Ray Instagram – From @onbeing podcast conversation with #NaomiNyeShihab:
She said, “Well, here in Japan, we have a concept called ‘Yutori.’ And it is spaciousness. It’s a kind of living with spaciousness. For example, it’s leaving early enough to get somewhere so that you know you’re going to arrive early, so when you get there, you have time to look around.” And then she gave all these different definitions of what Yutori was to her.
But one of them was — “and after you read a poem just knowing you can hold it, you can be in that space of the poem. And it can hold you in its space. And you don’t have to explain it. You don’t have to paraphrase it. You just hold it, and it allows you to see differently.” And I just love that. I mean, I think that’s what I’ve been trying to say all these years.’
Posting a throwback to #Mumbai in the throes of work yet finding stillness in the peace of my home. I think I have been prepping for social distancing for a while now. My flat in Mumbai is my sanctuary and I would only leave if I had to attend an event or film on a set. Otherwise, I invited anyone who wished to photograph or interview me home, eliminating an almost daily commute and gradually reducing my exposure to chaos, noise, pollution and a frenetic way of life.
