But, first! Today my #WCW is Huey German-Wilson. A woman who walks it like she talks it! In her #Houston community she learned that her neighbors all had the same concerns – illegal dumping, poor infrastructure, safety, housing, jobs, and lack of economic opportunity. Huey’s strong ties to her community led her to run for city council in 2019. Although she didn’t win, Huey has made it her mission to hold elected officials accountable to the people they serve. #GreenNewDeal

Through her efforts with @ceer_houston, @lisc_hq and @universityofhouston to name a few, @hueygermanwilson continues to work on a more resilient community after Hurricane Harvey. Huey is dedicated to the students in the surrounding schools by ensuring that programs are kept alive to prepare them for the plethora of options in life along with keeping them engaged in community outreach. She is a pillar of strength and has been recognized by the @txblackcaucus for her tireless efforts.
